Update: Floating body identified.

The man whose body was found floating in the Klein Olifants River could have committed suicide,as a bottle suspected to be poison was found next to him.

The deceased is Mr Jabu Ngwenya (37) from Mhluzi Extension 1. He was laid to rest last week.

Mr Ngwenya still had his cellphone and some money in his pocket when the body was found which ruled out foul play.

Although his cause of death has been ruled as drowning, the bottle was sent to a laboratory for further testing.

The Ngwenya family knew he had problems with his child and lover, but it still came as a shock when the family first saw a photo of his body in the Observer.

They are happy for the closure and would like to thank the public who supported them through their agony.
