VIDEO: Children plunge into embankment on the back of a bakkie

A bakkie plunged off an embankment next to the Ngwako Street bridge around 14:30 today (Monday).

The bakkie was carrying a number of children both on the back and inside the cabin with the driver.

No one was seriously injured but the children were all very shaken up and in tears from the shock.
The driver also escaped without serious injury.

Traffic started to pile up in the busy slipway leading to Mhluzi shortly after the incident.

Three ambulances arrived on the scene seconds after the bakkie plunged into the embankment.
