Snow, sleet and slippery roads – motorists advised to be cautious

The weather turned yesterday afternoon with a warning of a severe storm expected to hit the Middelburg surrounding areas.

Since then, its been cold and rainy for Middelburg, with a warning of snow for areas like Belfast, Ermelo and Carolina.

Belfast has seen none yet, but report that they have been experiencing cold rain and sleet.

The roads between Machadodorp and Belfast are said to be very slick and an accident has already occurred.
Motorists are advised to drive with caution.

The weather forecast for Middelburg is as follows:

Thursday(Today):
Minimum 4, maximum 17
Scattered showers with a wind of 23km/h.

Friday:
Minimum 8, maximum 23
Sunny with a wind of 10km/h.

Saturday:
Minimum 9, maximum 26
Sunny with a wind of 16km/h.

Sunday:
Mimimum 10, maximum 28
Sunny with a wind of 16km/h.
