Two pedestrians killed on N4
Two pedestrians were killed in two different accidents on the N4, at the same time on Sunday night.
Capt. Khanyisile Zwane said that two fatal pedestrian accidents were reported at around 20:30 on Sunday. One occurred near the Alzu Petroport and the other at the Bethal off-ramp.
In the first incident, a pedestrian was run over by a white BMW near the Petroport. The person was declared dead on the scene.
During the second incident, a woman drove to the police station to report an accident after she felt her vehicle hitting something on the N4. She did not want to stop at the scene alone.

Police escorted the woman to the scene where they discovered the body of a man lying next to the road. Signs indicate that the man was killed prior to the accident the woman reported. He had a head wound of which the blood had already dried and a swollen waist. A yellow car mirror and a Samsung phone was discovered next to the body.
Capt. Zwane said that neither of the two deceased have been identified yet and that police could not find any identification on them.
The Middelburg Police are investigating two cases of culpable homicide.
