Vergiftigings begin voor Paasnaweek
’n Vriendelike spanjoel is in Mauserstraat (Dennesig, Middelburg) vergiftig en inwoners is bekommerd dat misdadigers so vroeg vóór die Paasnaweek al toeslaan.
Me. Lynette Horn kyk na hul dogter (wat in Delmas bly) se spanjoel kruising, Leyla, terwyl hulle met verlof is. Sy het omstreeks 11:00 vir Leyla en haar twee honde, ook ’n spanjoel kruising en Jack Russell, laat uitgaan.
“Toe ek drie uur tuiskom, het Leyla reeds gevrek. Ons het later die worsie met die korrelrige gif wat sy uitgebraak het, op die erf gekry.”
Alle aanduidings is dat Temik (ook Two Step genoem oor die vinnige werking daarvan) gebuik is om die hond te vergiftig. Wat vir me. Horn vreemd is, is dat ’n spekkaasworsie gebruik is om die hond te vergiftig.

• Mnr. Piet Joubert se bassethond, Poopy, was siek toe hy gisteraand tuis kom.
Hulle bly in Helen Josephstraat (ook Dennesig) en het nie dadelik onraad vermoed nie. Hy meld dat sy hek skielik probleme ondervind en die vermoede bestaan dat iemand met die hek gepeuter het en vir die hond gif ingegee het.
Mnr. Joubert het aangedui dat hulle die hond, wat steeds siek is, veearts toe gaan vat, om uit die vind of hy nie wel gif ingekry het nie.
