Police need help identifying Doornkop woman killed by truck

The driver stopped to render aid, but sadly the woman died on the scene.

The Middelburg police are requesting help with the identification of a woman’s body.

The woman was struck and killed by a Blue Ribbon Bakery truck at the entrance of Doornkop Phase 1 around 05:30 last Saturday.

A culpable homicide investigation has been launched.

The police confirmed that the driver of the truck stopped at the scene to render aid, but the woman’s injuries to her face and head were fatal.

The driver of the truck contacted the police, who rushed to the scene. The woman was pronounced dead by medical responders.

She was wearing blue jeans, brown boots and a brown coat at the time of her death.

Local community members said they don’t know who the woman is and have never seen her in the area before.

According to the police, the woman is estimated to be between 30 and 35 years old.
