Traffic – potholes worsen after downpour

The unexpected downpour that caused flooding in low lying areas of Middelburg has worsened the state of certain roads.

Motorists found themselves navigating troubled waters on Walter Sisulu Street yesterday, after river levels rose and water built up near the magasyn.

A large pothole has worsened just before the Walter Sisulu- and Protea Street intersection, spanning across the lane that comes into town.

The northern-bound left lane at the Lilian Ngoyi- and Bhimy Damane intersection has also been cordoned off due to damage on the tar surface.
