Mhluzi home petrol bombed

Following several meetings between STLM employees and the ANC earlier today, a house in Mhluzi was torched.

After information was received that instigators were protesting outside the home of Executive Mayor Mhlonishwa Masilela, reports circulated that his home was petrol bombed, however, these allegations could not be corroborated.

The house fire comes shortly on the back of traffic alerts stating that Walter Sisulu was blocked off by protesters.

The road was found to be open and the situation calm after www.mobserver.co.za’s inspection.

Middelburg faces more unrest as residents of Mhluzi and Nasaret plan protest action tomorrow, which will include multiple road closures.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant and cautious.
