Pastors cleanse and pray for municipality

Dozens of municipal workers, led by pastors, gathered at the municipal buildings to pray today (Thursday).

The pastors prayed for the restoration of workers, the newly elected municipal manager, Mandla Mnguni, and service delivery.

The prayer started at the civic centre, where the pastors also cleansed the area where Tshepo Maseko lost his life on August 17.

Mr Maseko and three others were shot by PPP Protection and Security guards after striking employees broke down the main entrance gate to the municipality upon learning of Ms Thokozile Zulu’s presence in the buildings.

Mr Maseko died on the scene, while the others were transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

The religious leaders have also made arrangements to visit one of the workers, Harris Sithole, who was shot during the incident.

The pastors and workers went on to pray for workers at the town planning building and the solid waste department.
