It was reliably learned that the driver of a Toyota Yaris was killed after losing control and overturning on the N11 near Doornkop at 08:00 in the morning.
The three passengers supposedly also suffered severe injuries.

Another accident simultaneously took place on the N4 at the Hendrina off-ramp, involving two trucks.

While it was fortunately reported that no injuries were sustained, partial road closure disrupted traffic and other motorists were forced to drive by in the middle of the road.

One of the trucks carrying fresh produce was also stripped of its shipment by looters.

• A pedestrian also suffered severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the N11 at Doornkop on Friday. While the pedestrian survived the accident, he suffered severe fractures to both his legs in the incident.
