The incident occurred this afternoon.

According to information,  the woman was on a tube being pulled by a jetski when she signalled to those on land that she was struggling to breath.

She was brought back to land, and shortly afterwards, guests at the dam and Herculaas Taljaard tried to resuscitate her.

When paramedics arrived on the scene she was declared dead.

The cause of the woman’s death is unknown.

Her body was transported to the Middelburg Forensic Pathology Department.
