Diesel tanker driver nabbed by police

The Middelburg Flying Squad arrested a truck driver who was allegedly driving a diesel tanker without proper documentation on Monday at about 03:43 at the Middelburg Toll Plaza.

The documentation the driver provided indicated that the load the truck was carrying was delivered a week earlier.

The truck driver was taken to the police station for questioning. Shortly after the arrest, the owner of the truck also arrived at the police station.

The owner allegedly attempted to bribe the police to release his truck and the police subsequently arrested him.

The two accused are expected to appear in the eMalahleni Magistrates’ Court.
