Murder investigation launched after charred body was found

Police in Belfast are calling upon the community to assist in identifying a man whose body was found burnt next to Stoffberg Road at the Palmer turnoff in Belfast today at about 07:00.

According to a report, the police received information about a man’s charred body laying next to the road. The police responded to the complaint and upon arrival, they found the human body with noticeable, open wounds on the head.

A murder case was opened and the investigation has already begun.

Police urge anyone who might have a missing relative or any detail that may assist in finding the family of the deceased person to contact Detective Segeant Rose Magagula on 013-253 1688 or 078 047 4575.

Alternatively members of the public can call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111 or send information via MYSAPSAPP. All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.
