Tickets available for Springboks return
Mpumalanga will welcome Springbok rugby once again this year, with Mbombela Stadium set to act as a fortress against the Argentinian national side.
The fixture is scheduled for September 28, and will serve as the grand finale of South Africa’s Rugby Championship campaign.
It will also mark South Africa’s first fixture in Mpumalanga as reigning back-to-back World Cup champions.
Tickets officially went on sale on March 13, and are available through the Mbombela Stadium’s ticket office and Computicket.
The 43 500-seater stadium will be eagerly anticipating the possibility of the Boks lifting silverware on home turf, which of course will be entirely dependent on how they fare in their earlier clashes against the Wallabies and the Kiwis.
History heavily favours South Africa in this matchup, with the Bokke having emerged victorious in 32 of their 36 battles, with Los Pumas having tasted victory three times and honours having been shared once.
Fortunately for the South American men in blue and white, they will square off in a home game exactly one week before the “Battle of Mbombela”, where Los Pumas will be hoping to pounce on a potentially tired Springboks side, who will have just come fresh from two encounters against a hungry-for-revenge New Zealand outfit.
But if anyone can steer the team through rough waters unscathed, it’s Rassie and his team of experienced warriors.
