Bike thieves strike again

Bike thieves have struck again, making off with a SYM Wolf 125 CC during the early hours of this morning.

David Coetzee and his wife, Leigh Peyper, said that the thieves targeted their house in Hospital Street between roughly 10:30 and 05:00 this morning.
The motorcycle belongs to David’s employer who lent it to him for transport.

“The bike was standing in the entrance to our house but was locked behind two safety gates and was covered up. The thieves cut two locks with a bolt cutter to get to it.”

Leigh says the incident must have occurred after 01:00 this morning, as she awoke at that time and saw it was still there. When they got up at 05:15 the motorcycle was gone.

They believe that more than two suspects must have been involved because the bike’s steering was locked, meaning that the suspects had to drag it off.

“Its a heavy bike so it must have taken more than two people to get it out of our yard.”

The motorcycle is a SYM Wolf 125 CC, registration number: KJW 270 MP.

Anyone with any information on the bike’s whereabouts is urged to please call Thys Horak on 072 778 4280.
