Scaly 5 night race at Kees Taljaard tonight

Remember to bring your headlamp!

The Middelburg Marathon Club’s Scaly 5 Night Series is set to return tonight!

Taking place at Kees Taljaard Stadium, both the 10km and the 4.9km will begin at 18:30.

Prizes ranging from R150–R400 are up for grabs, and even a goody bag for the 4.9km.

The entry fee for the 10km is set at R80, R50 for the 4.9km and R40 for the temporary license.

There will be food stalls available tonight for both participants and supporters to refill and recharge.

The theme for tonight’s race is Lizard, and here’s a fun fact about those scaly guys, the rarest lizard in the world is the Mexican Bearded Lizard, which have the ability to survive on three meals per year! That sure sounds like a marathon runner.
