‘Jovial’ Alf remembered

The family and friends of Alf Gouws will be celebrating his life with a memorial service this Friday.

His son, Clarke Uddgren, shared the following message:

“It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of my father, Alf Gouws, on August 18 due to natural causes at Life Midmed Hospital.

Alf was beloved in our close-knit town of Middelburg, known for his jovial spirit and fun-loving nature. His presence brought joy to many, and he will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

With a heavy heart, I regret to inform that I will not be able to attend the memorial service in order to pay my respects.

The memorial service will take place on Friday, August 23, at 11:00 at the Christ-Confessing Church.

I find solace in knowing that my sister, Janet, and her husband will attend on my behalf, ensuring that family representation and love are present.

Your ever-loving son, Clarke.”
