A Middelburg taxi driver shocked motorists this morning with two reckless overtaking manoeuvres within the space of a block, forcing oncoming vehicles to take evasive action.

Truck driver Wynand Spencer, who witnessed the incident, expressed his frustration at the taxi’s reckless driving. “They always say it’s the trucks, but look what the taxi is doing!” he said. Spencer sent a video of the incident to the Middelburg Observer to show exactly what happened.

The taxi overtook on solid lines.

A taxi nearly caused an accident this morning (August 13) when it crossed a solid line to overtake a truck, only to repeat the dangerous manoeuvre about a block further in Mandela Drive, Middelburg.
