Police appeal for information in missing person’s case

The search for a missing 34-year-old Belfast woman is underway.

Belfast police are appealing for any information that could assist in finding Bongeka Petunia Mbhamali (34), who resides in Belfast.

Bongeka has been missing since August 14 and was reportedly on her way to visit her homestead in Mbazwana, KwaZulu-Natal, on the day of her disappearance.

According to her boyfriend, Mnelisi Mncwango, she left on Thursday morning and was supposed to contact him once she had reached Jozini.
Mnelisi grew worried and called her multiple times, but Bongeka’s phone went to voicemail each time.

After filing a missing person’s report, Mnelisi managed to speak to her before her phone went to voicemail again.

Her last whereabouts were at Godlwayo Station in Mbazwana, where she was seen by witnesses, and later left with a woman.

At the time of her disappearance, Bongeka was wearing a white dress, a black jean jacket, and black boots.

Anyone with information that could help in locating Bongeka can contact Detective Sergeant Rose Magagula on 078 047 4575 or Mnelisi Mncwango on 072 659 9388.

The police are still looking for Thabisile Thabethe (36) from Welverdiend farm in Blinkpan, who went missing on May 30 at a local bar.

She disappeared after heading home, which was only a 6km walk away.

The family mentioned that there have not been any new updates since her disappearance.

Anyone with any information on Thabisile’s whereabouts can contact Timothy Thabethe on 072 665 6261.
