Three caught after discovery of headless corpses

Police make early breakthrough in murder probe.

Three Malawian nationals have been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of two men whose bodies were found in a veld at rural Avontuur.

The bodies were discovered earlier today.

Both victims were decapitated with their feet and arms also hacked off.

The bodies were found close together in a veld, not far from a farm house where police discovered the primary crime scene.

Police followed a blood trail to the house, which they found locked.

Evidence on the scene suggests that both men had been killed in the house.

The bodies also had bullet wounds, leading police to believe that the bodies were mutilated after the men had been shot and killed.

One of the bodies were dumped face the down and the other vice versa.

It is currently unclear what the motive for the barbaric attack was.

Fantastic police work resulted in the arrest of three Malawian nationals shortly after the macabre scene was discovered.

The victims have not been named.

The trio is expected to appear in court on charges of murder on Monday.

They were all arrested on a nearby farm, close to the house where the investigation is focused.
