Hide and seek is for kids, not your number plate

Fix your number plate before it’s too late.

“Please have your legal number plates affixed to your vehicle, trailer, and/or motorcycle before it is too late.”

This is the strong message the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality is sending to drivers without number plates.

The municipality released a statement stating that the traffic department has noticed an increasing number of trailers, motorcycles, and motor vehicles without number plates.

They warned motorists on Wednesday that those driving without visible affixed number plates will face the full wrath of the law, as it is an offence according to Regulation 35 of the National Road Traffic Act 93 of 1996.

Those caught committing the offence may have their vehicles impounded or face a traffic violation fine of up to R1 000.
