Vlok Cilliers’ team on the way to Munga victory

According to the tracker, Care Riders and Toks&Tjops are together.

The race is probably not over.

However, it looks like Middelburg’s Care Riders 1 will be giving up their equipe title in The Munga cycle race between Bloemfontein and Wellington.

Cyclists cover 1 124 km through the Karoo.

By last night, there was still hope with the Care Riders only 50km behind the leaders.

By 08:00 this morning, the picture no longer looks so good.

It currently looks as if Magda Nieuwoudt of Toks&Tjops and Corné Ferreira (Care Riders) will tackle the last stage together, because both teams have 827km according to the tracker.

Care Riders 2 are at 722km, and Care Riders 3 have covered 638km.

There is good news from our solo riders, with Thiesa and Johan Janse van Rensburg pushing forward against strong winds, with 620km behind them.

Veli Mthethwa has covered 433km according to the tracker.
