WATCH: Four-vehicle crash on N4 claims one life, children injured

A woman died and five others, including three children, were injured in an accident on the N4 earlier today (December 20).

One woman lost her life and five others were hospitalized following a four-vehicle accident on the N4 between the Woestalleen and Arnot offramps.

The crash, involving three cars and a LDV (bakkie), occurred at around 15:00. The woman, who was a passenger in a Suzuki, died on the scene. Three children, a man, and an older woman were taken to hospital with injuries.

The fast lanes of both directions were temporarily closed while emergency services assisted the victims. The scene has now been cleared.

Witnesses described a heart-wrenching moment when two children were crying at the scene. A female traffic official comforted them, holding their hands until they were safely assisted into an ambulance.

Authorities continue to urge motorists to drive cautiously along the N4.
