Magical scenes at Middelburg SPCA movie night

Blankets, camping chairs and community spirit filled the air as the Middelburg SPCA hosted a successful outdoor movie night fundraiser, on January 10, to support local animals and animal welfare.

The event, held at the SPCA premises, offered residents a relaxed, family-friendly way to support animal welfare. Proving once again that Middelburg residents show up when it matters.

As the sun set and the big screen lit up, moviegoers enjoyed a classic ‘golden oldie’ under the stars, all while contributing directly to the care of rescued animals.

The entrance fee, in the form of puppy food, wet cat food, or dog treats, ensured that every attendee made a meaningful difference. Donations poured in throughout the evening, helping to stock much-needed supplies for the SPCA’s daily operations. The SPCA extended heartfelt thanks to every local business that helped make the night possible, including Atomic Garden for professional audio and sound support, Shockwave Music for technical assistance, and Coastal Toilet Hire for ensuring guests’ comfort.

Volunteers worked tirelessly behind the scenes, while community members got comfortable in the cool evening weather. It was a scene of compassion and community uniting to change the lives of animals. According to the SPCA, events like these are more than just fundraisers. “They bring people together, raise awareness and remind us that caring for animals is a shared responsibility.”
