An inquiry into alleged police misconduct has been opened by Mpumalanga police against one of its own members.

Provincial brass noted a video in circulation, allegedly showing a police officer taking items from hawkers in Mbombela, expressing concern.

The docket was transferred to the Middelburg Corruption Units for further investigation.
