Mhluzi Ext 3 author releases award-winning Sepedi novel
The award-winning Sepedi novel by Amos Tebeila, praised by UJ and considered for prescribed reading at the University of Pretoria.
Amos Tebeila, a prize-winning author from Mhluzi Extension 3 and a father of three, has officially released his debut novel, Ga se madi aka, into the market. Written in Sepedi, the book reflects Amos’s lifelong dedication to storytelling and creative writing.
The novel was released last year and has already received significant recognition. Late last year, Ga se madi aka won an award at the University of Johannesburg for Best Sepedi Novel in Creative Writing.
Shortly thereafter, the book was selected for consideration as prescribed reading material at the University of Pretoria, a milestone Amos said validated the many sleepless nights he spent perfecting the manuscript.
Amos describes his writing style as being inspired by everyday life, with ordinary experiences transformed into fiction. He said his surroundings play a major role in shaping his storytelling voice.
Although he is a self-taught writer, Amos has balanced his passion for literature with a professional career, having previously worked at the Department of Transport in the licensing department.
Ga se madi aka is currently retailing for R200. While Amos aspires to see his book stocked on bookstore shelves, he presently sells directly to readers, taking orders and delivering from his home.
Those interested in purchasing the book can contact Amos Tebeila on 081 829 8371 or email amos.tebeila@gmail.com.
