WATCH: Two killed in N4 crash, traffic backed up for miles

Two other seriously injured.

Two people were killed, one of them on the way to hospital, following a crash between a bakkie and light light vehicle on the N4.

The accident occurred just after 16:00.

The N4 has just opened for traffic following recovery operations.

It took emergency services longer to reach the scene due to traffic congestion.

Traffic has been backed up for more than 5km in both directions.

One person was confirmed dead on the scene, while the other sadly passed away before reaching the hospital.

Two others were seriously injured and are said to be in critical condition.

Its unclear what led to the accident.

Police are also still on the scene.
