Community urged to help collect 200 pairs for ‘Shoe the World Day’

Amy Gwebu is calling on Middelburg residents to donate new or unused shoes of any size before March 14, as she aims to collect 200 pairs for distribution on National Shoe the World Day.

A local initiative is appealing to the community of Middelburg to step forward and make a difference. One pair of shoes at a time.

Amy Gwebu (10) has launched a drive to collect 200 pairs of shoes for the needy, which will be handed out on National Shoe the World Day. The campaign welcomes all sizes, from baby shoes to adult footwear.

Residents are encouraged to donate any shoes that are lying around unused and still in good condition. Donations must be dropped off before March 14 at 7B Klip Street, Middelburg.

Amy said the goal is simple: To ensure that as many people as possible have proper footwear, restoring dignity and providing comfort to those in need.

For more information, residents can call 072 404 5122.

Community members are reminded that even a single pair of shoes can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.
