Two wounded, shooter arrested after Dullstroom bar fight
Shots fired during bloody Dullstroom bar brawl.
A Johannesburg man was arrested following a bar shooting in Dullstroom, leaving two people wounded on Saturday.
The gunman, a visitor from Johannesburg, was arrested after initially fleeing the scene.
He is expected to appear in court today. The suspect’s name has not been released by the SAPS.
Dullstroom locals say the shooting was preceded by a bloody brawl.

The fight occurred after a local restaurant asked some patrons to leave the establishment.
According to an eyewitness, the troublemakers were seen making doughnuts with their vehicles and initiating street races before they were ultimately asked to leave.
From there, the patrons moved to another Dullstroom bar, where the confrontation escalated.
A physical altercation at the saloon then resulted in the shooting.
But the fight didn’t end there. Patrons fleeing the bullets were followed to a filling station, where the fight continued.
Police and security teams then arrived, spurring the shooter to flee.
The witness said at least four shots were fired during the melee outside the second bar.
The suspect was later traced to a farm in the Tondeldoos area, and he handed himself over to the police upon learning of the manhunt for him.
It’s unclear what led to the fight, with the witness saying alcohol definitely fuelled it.
The Mpumalanga SAPS have not responded to requests for comment.
Some witnesses said they’ve never experienced such a fight in the holiday town before.
It was added that the brawlers were from out of town, with a local event (the opening of an establishment) drawing more visitors than expected over the weekend.
Video footage of the incident will be posted by Middelburg Observer once formal comment from police is obtained.
