Meyer Street repairs are finally underway

A tree blocking a burst stormwater pipe has been removed, and repairs are underway to fix the pipe and pothole.

Repair work on Meyer Street regarding the burst stormwater pipe, which left a large, water-filled hole on one side of the road, is in full swing and should be fixed soon.

Residents in the area have raised concerns about sewage flowing along the street and leaking onto the pavement, and the strong, unpleasant odour that has lingered since the pipe burst.

As part of the repair process, a large tree that had grown over the damaged pipe was removed to provide access to the affected section.

Work is now underway to fix the damaged pipe and subsequently repair the pothole that formed due to water damage.

The affected section of Meyer Street remains under repair, and residents and motorists are advised to exercise caution while work continues.

Further updates will be provided as the repair progresses.
