Other vehicles also involved in fiery crash.

Motorists should avoid the old Witbank Road, where a truck reportedly crashed into the railway bridge.

According to information received, multiple other vehicles have also been involved in the collision.

It’s unclear at this stage whether there have been any fatalities, with emergency services still rushing to the scene.

Traffic is backed up in both directions as far as the eye can see.

Not a single lane is available around the crash site as the roadway narrows at the bridge into single lanes from both sides.

Motorists have been warned to avoid the route because of the danger posed by the scene.

The truck is said to have burst into flames after colliding with the bridge.

The blaze ignited veld fires around the scene, resulting in thick smoke.

The road is currently inaccessible from both the Middelburg and Emalahleni sides.

Recovery operations have not yet started, with the fire brigade en route to secure the area for first responders.
