Middelburg Magistrate’s Court denies bail to alleged drug dealers
The Ermelo K9 Unit caught a vehicle on the N4 carrying 204kg of dagga.
The Middelburg Magistrate’s Court has denied bail to Ntethelelo Hlatshwayo and Dumisani Langwenya following their arrest in connection with a major drug bust along the N4 highway, which yielded 204kg of dagga valued at approximately R500 000 on Tuesday (July 21).
Hlatshwayo and Langwenya appeared in court yesterday (July 22) facing charges related to the possession and dealing of illegal substances.
The arrests followed a swift operation by members of the Ermelo Police K9 Unit, who acted on a tip-off regarding a light delivery vehicle transporting a large consignment of illicit drugs.
Warrant Officer Nonhlanhla Mdluli said, “Officers intercepted the vehicle along the N4 Corridor. A thorough search led to the discovery and confiscation of 204kg of dagga. Both men were arrested at the scene.”
