International and local fighters clashed at Eastdene Community Hall during a high-energy tournament hosted by Ilanga Boxing Promotions, showcasing top talent from Mpumalanga and beyond.

An electric night of boxing unfolded at Eastdene Community Hall as Ilanga Boxing Promotions, with the Mpumalanga Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation, hosted a tournament featuring international and provincial title fights.
Local fighters shone, with Blessing Shongwe claiming the junior bantamweight provincial title and Sibongumusa Ngobeni opening the night with a second-round technical knockout. Other notable bouts included Xolani Mgidi and Alima Nkosi securing victories, and Zimbabwean champion Ndoda Ncube winning a majority decision before being hospitalised post-fight.
Organisers praised the high level of competition and the platform provided for developing boxers.
