Police hold gender-based violence awareness session

Residents in Belfast were engaged in an informative session on gender-based violence, with local organisations also stepping in to support families through food and blanket donations ahead of winter.

Members of the Belfast Family, Child and Sexual Offences Unit recently held a community talk for residents, focusing on the issue of gender-based violence and raising awareness around available support and reporting channels.

The event also saw acts of community support, with Belfast Spar donating bags of groceries to assist vulnerable families, while the Rotary Club provided blankets to help residents prepare for the colder winter months.

Captain Leon van der Berg and Constable Mike Mnisi expressed their appreciation to both Belfast Spar and the Rotary Club for their contributions, noting that the donations will make a meaningful difference to families in need within the community.
