Missing man found after frantic search with drones

The search continued the entire day.

The missing Raymond Marais has been found.

Despite a wide drone search in the area around the SPCA and the railway tracks, a voice note currently circulating claims that he was found after a Google location from his phone led searchers to the area.

According to the voice note, recorded by an unknown male, Marais was allegedly kidnapped, tied to a tree and assaulted.

The message further claims that his phone was stolen, but that its Google location nonetheless led the search party to the area where he was found.

According to the voice note, he was found on the roadside after freeing himself from the tree.

Exactly where he was found is not mentioned.

In contrast, another message circulating on WhatsApp groups states that the search was called off after Marais arrived home with dirty clothes, scraped knees and without his phone.

Both messages, however, indicate that he is safe and back at home.

He was only reported missing to the police at around 19:00 tonight.

The CPF and several security companies, including Falcon Security and Aiguille Security, were involved in the search.
