SPCA saves dog from manhole

MIDRAND SPCA inspector, Jerry Seemise, and volunteer, Melusi Ndaweni, answered a call about a dog that had fallen into a manhole.

They rescued the dog, which was severely dehydrated and hungry, and took it to the Midrand SPCA for treatment.

The dog is a four-year-old crossbreed, and it is estimated that it was stuck in the manhole for three days.

Currently the dog is being housed at the Midrand SPCA where it is getting healthier by the day.

The SPCA pleads with the public to take care of their animals properly so that incidents like this do not occur.

The Midrand SPCA is always looking for help, and is desperate for dog and cat food as they go through three tonnes of pet food a month.

They will also gladly accept donations of cat litter, leashes, blankets and any other pet supplies.
