Learner transporters are regulated
MIDRAND - Learner Transport Association will host an induction and training programme for its members from 9am on 7 June at Midrand Primary School.
The training will be a morning-long exercise to remind members of the organisations’ rules and regulations, and to train members on protocol and conduct.
Public relations officer for the association, Brian Govender said the day would also offer community members who would like to learn more about the association to meet the committee and learn what the association does.
The association’s aim is to regulate the transportation of pupils in Midrand by providing safe and reliable transport for pupils to and from school. Patrollers are also stationed outside some schools in Midrand to ensure pupils’ safety.
There are about 120 drivers signed up to the association which is affiliated to the Gauteng Education Transport Services.
The association has also extended a helping hand to the community such as donating soccer balls to Noordwyk Primary School and donating nappies to Botshabelo Babies Home in Crowthorne.
Govender extended an invitation to anyone interested in the association’s work to join the training day.
