Auction for Sloan

FOURWAYS - Jimmy Tsegas, director of VIP Memorabilia, a specialty and niche store for sports memorabilia, has taken on the task of raising funds for the Sloan foundation.

Sloan was born on 5 March 2014 to his parents Chantelle and Andrew.

After noticing that her baby had difficulty moving, Chantelle took Sloan to a paediatrician who diagnosed Sloan with having a green fracture, a common injury in infants who have started to crawl and walk.

On 16 January this year, Sloan was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour on the right side of his brain. The pressure and size of the tumour were so intense that surgeons performed an emergency operation.

Friends of Sloan’s parents have set up a foundation to collect the funds needed for Sloan’s treatment. The funds collected will be used for any treatment, therapy, medication or hospitalisation Sloan may need.

Tsegas has created an online auction, where specialty and one-of-a-kind sports memorabilia are being auctioned.

“The bidding starts at R5 000, anything raised above this amount will go straight to the foundation. As a business in the Fourways area, we believe it is our duty to give back to the community,” he said. The community can go onto the VIP website to find out more details about the auction. Tsgeas said the auction is audited and can be done from cellphones.
