Rabie Ridge police spokesperson Constable Jacob Nhlongo said a 24-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the rape. Nhlongo explained that the complainant said she noticed that something was amiss with her child when her daughter told her that her private parts were feeling sore. He said,”The mother checked the child’s body and noticed that semen was coming out of her daughter’s private parts. She asked the child what happened and the child told her that a male tenant who rents a room in the same house with them raped her.”
Constable Nhlongo confirmed that the 4-year-old has received counselling after the ordeal.
The matter was reported to police and when police asked the suspect if he had raped the girl, the suspect admitted to it. He will soon appear at Tembisa Magistrates’ Court for rape.
