The woman said in a statement to police that it was nearing the end of work, at around 5pm, when she went into her employer’s office to inform him that it was getting late. Her employer allegedly told her that there was still work she needed to do.
“While she was at her desk with a fellow male colleague, the colleague allegedly started touching her inappropriately on her body and buttocks,” said Constable Matome Tlamela, head of communications at the police station.
“She said she immediately went to inform her boss of the occurrence, and he allegedly did nothing.”
The woman left work and went to the Midrand police to report the matter.
“Her 35-year-old male colleague was arrested at their workplace that evening at around 8pm,” said Tlamela.
