Youth advised to live wisely and avoid crime

IVORY PARK - IN COMMEMORATION of Youth Day, Ivory Park police have sent a message to the youth.

Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said, “Our youth must stop involving themselves in criminal activities. Some of them are taking the issue of liquor and drugs for granted and they end up being arrested for cases they committed while they were intoxicated.”

She mentioned that getting arrested and charged at a young age can destroy a young person’s life as they end up with a criminal record.

“Celebrate Youth Day and daily choose to live safely and stay on the right side of the law,” said Sekgobela.

She urged the youth to look out for each other whenever they can.

“Most girls end up being raped at celebrations or parties and robbed while other people are celebrating. Take care of yourself and help your friends make the right decisions. Get involved in community uplifting projects to remember the youth of 1976,” she concluded.
