“The week was a celebration of books and the love thereof, and most importantly, the love of reading,” said school principal Stewart Tagg.
During the week, the school also unveiled their newly-revamped library.
“To start off the week and to get all the children excited, teachers surprised the pupils on Monday morning by dressing up as their favourite book characters. It was the children’s turn on Friday,” Tagg explained.
He said that everyone used their imagination and had a joyous time. “We had some wonderful characters arrive at school.”
Hooked On Books also entertained the children with a story production. The Book People, who are book retailers, also came to the school. “We purchased some wonderful new books for home and our library resources.”
“The children were most excited and eagerly placed the new books on the bookshelves. Our hope was to connect our little readers with books and celebrate the joy of reading,” he said.
