Despite various security companies operating in the area, the crime level continues to escalate, with vehicle hijackings being rife.

The residents are finally saying enough is enough to crime and are now reclaiming back their community with an initiative which includes random roadblocks, patrolling and using social media groups on WhatsApp and Facebook.

Numerous trained and experienced security personnel have been appointed with the aim of curbing crime and decreasing the high rate of drug usage among the youth of the area.

The leader of the initiative, Stanley Pitso, stated that the security measures came into play due to the four to five break-ins which were occurring daily. The police had been contacted on several occasions and have started patrolling the area twice a day.
