Reddford House kids learn the art of food production

MIDRAND – Redford House Blue Hills makes learning fun by taking kids to do pizza for their food production course.

Reddford House Blue Hills took the Grade 3 learners on practical food production tour.

The learners went to a pizza place on 4 and 5 March and learnt how to make pizza.

Tracy Kurten, the marketer at the school, said that over the course of this term the children had to learn about healthy eating, food production and the food pyramid, “We thought it would be exciting for the children to get a hands-on feel for how food is made and for them to actively get involved especially since they had been writing their very own recipes for pizza.

“Excitement was in the air as the children listened attentively to the chef’s directions. Once all demonstrations were done, the children were able to roll out their very own dough and design their very own pizza.

“An amazing day of learning through fun. We definitely have some mini masterchefs in our school.”

One of the learners, Lubanzi Jele said, “I had so much fun today learning about how pizza is made.”
