Botshabelo postpones birthday bash

MIDRAND – Botshabelo postpones 20th birthday bash until later date due to the coronavirus.

Botshabelo has postponed their 20th birthday bash that was scheduled for 4 April.

The 20th birthday celebration was expected to host a wide variety of activities, including a fun run and market while also entertaining crowds with the live acts such as Majozi. The festivities have been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and the 21-day lockdown announced by the Department of Health.

General manager of the organisation Michelle Hinrichsen said, “The birthday bash is postponed for now, but we still reach out to our community through our relief fund which is running well. We continue with our programmes despite other things. We kept all our staff which we have to pay.”

The organisation would like to call on the community to continue their support. The organisation is currently running a coronavirus relief fund which launched to help families in need through the development of food parcels and hygiene packs.

Members of the public willing to assist can donate items to build relief packs. Interested community members can email admin@botshabelo.co.za or donate items via the ‘shop and send’ function at their favourite online grocery store.
