Local artist creates songs to raise funds for those less fortunate
MIDRAND – Music producer and singer JRoss has been working with over 60 artists from across the world on the Believe Project.
Midrand-based gospel artist, Jamela Vuma is excited for what’s to come following the release of the single Believe.
The music producer and singer, known as JRoss, has been working with over 60 artists from across the world on the Believe Project. Proceeds from the sale of the song will help assist people who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
JRoss explained that he was approached by singer and songwriter from the United Kingdom, Eric Reverence, who wrote the song and asked him to produce it. “I then fell in love with the idea because it is done for charity, some of that money we are raising is going to come back to South Africa to help those who are less fortunate.”
Because of this pandemic a lot of people are struggling, and the Believe Project is a great way of raising money.”
The song was released on 10 July. JRoss added, “I sat in the studio and produced the song. For a South African to produce a song with all these artists from all around the world and put them into one song was a great experience. The Believe Project will be providing emergency food packages to impoverished communities across South Africa.
Their teams will also provide a restorative justice programme in schools, juvenile detention centres and adult prisons.”Obviously the reason why I entirely fell in love with the project was because it is for charity, young children and poor people, because this is what I believe God has called us for. To help each other serve one another.”
