Grade 11s band together to help Midrand-based children’s home

MIDRAND – The Christ Church Preparatory School and College Grade 11s got together to create and donate gift bags.

The Grade 11s of Christ Church Preparatory School and College recently came together to supply gift bags to New Jerusalem Children’s Home.

The initiative was kicked off by newly appointed head of outreach at the school Kristen Peters, who also acts as a global ambassador for social impact organisation Small Acts for Sustainability.

Marketing manager of the school Dawn Schmitz said, “In her capacity as both head of outreach and global ambassador, she mobilised all the Grade 11 pupils to assist with the packing of gift bags. These gift bags will be delivered to The New Jerusalem Children’s Home in Midrand.”

The gift bags include necessities like bath soap, deodorant, sanitary pads, sanitiser, cloth face masks among other products.

Peters said, “I would like to thank all the Grade 11s for their assistance in packing the bags, without their commitment and assistance, it would have taken days to prepare the gift packs.”

Schmitz added that Peters would like to complete more bags and is calling on the local community for donations to create more

gift bags.
