Give. Gather. Gift a success

BLUE HILLS – Botshabelo would like to thank the local community for their support of their Give. Gather. Gift Christmas campaign.

Non-profit organisation Botshabelo would like to thank the community for their support during their Give. Gather. Gift Christmas campaign.

The organisation launched the campaign in December last year and had called on the community for support. Fundraising manager Jessica Smith said, “Our Christmas campaign, Give. Gather. Gift was a success. What a great way to close 2020. People in and around Midrand gave by donating the cost of their Christmas lunch which helped us pay for a few stationery items in the office to start the new year.

“Others gathered donations from friends and family, giving people in our community a chance to purchase affordable clothes and toys from our second-hand shop to wrap up for their little one’s over Christmas. And some individuals gifted our babies with their most-needed essentials to have full tummies and needed care.”

Smith added that they would like to thank everyone who took part in the campaign which enabled them to provide the best care possible for their children. “We cannot do it without the generosity of the people.”

The organisation called on more sponsors to come forward, particularly to assist their UpliftED Education Programme. “UpliftED is our teacher training programme in impoverished communities to empower both teachers and principals of ‘backyard’ crèches.”

She urged local residents to become monthly sponsors of the programme by donating as little as R100 per month, and interested persons could contact them at office@botshabelo.co.za
