On the opening night of the exhibition (September 22), learners, shoppers, and teachers came together to absorb all the entertainment the learners from Kyalami and Beaulieu Preparatory Schools and Beaulieu College had to offer.

Arts teacher at Beaulieu Preparatory School, Donovan Williams, explained that the event was a team collaboration between himself, Jacky Sargent from Kyalami Preparatory School and Petri de Klerk from Beaulieu College.

“All three schools have amalgamated together. We have the children’s work on display, ranging from Grade 000 to our matrics’ work. There have been some activities for the public to do like a mural that we are doing, there have also been some models that the children built in one of the subjects,” Williams said.

He added that they hope to spread positivity with the rhino mural since it has been such a difficult year for South Africa. “We have got all the 11 official languages in the drawing. We think that instead of being apart, we are better together as a country. We are hoping that 2022 is going to be a better year for our country and a much more fruitful year for our country as well.”
