Noordwyk Secondary School keeps their hopes high for the new year

NOORDWYK – Principal Alex Tau said that plans were in place to revive their sporting activities such as rugby, netball among others.

Noordwyk Secondary School shared some of their hopes for the new year.

Principal Alex Tau said on behalf of the school that he was very happy they have already done most of the planning for 2022 in terms of the curriculum delivery, class/learner structuring everything concerning the Grade 11 children going to Grade 12.

“The year is not going to be an easy one but if we had to plan according to Covid-19, it will mean we will have to get one extra class,” he added.

“We do not have it [the classroom] yet and it will be a challenge getting it, however, at the same time, we would like to thank the Johannesburg Education Department’s district office and the Gauteng Department of Education – they have given us one extra teacher to assist.”

Tau said they were aware of parents struggling to place their children in Grade 8 and hopes the Department of Education will be able to resolve the issues.

In the new year, they will continue to ‘create waves’ with their soccer team and plans to revive their netball, rugby and other sporting activities. “One other thing that is close to my heart … is the robotics team that we want to start so learners can do coding at school.”

He concluded by wishing all community members a very happy New Year.
